• Hello to whomever is reading this post….It’s Saturday March 6th here in Chiang Mai Thailand, and  we are about 2 weeks out from our departure back home.  I never thought a year ago when I was posting about our departure TO Thailand, that I would be writing this post a year later.  It’s amazing how things change.  I can honestly say that I am OK with the direction we’re going in.  I did think we would live in Thailand forever, or atleastlonger than 1 year, BUT I’m not God, and in my ignorance I made statements that are out of my control.  I’m learning to shut my mouth more. :)

Anyhow, it is exciting to go back home, yet scarry in a way b/c there are so many unknowns waiting for us when we get there (and that’s only 2 weeks away!)  The reality of Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t depend on your own understanding” is staring me in the face write now.  I don’t have all the answers, in fact I have very few, BUT I know who I’m following, and that’s what counts most.

  • We had a great time at the childrens’ home in Baan Mae Toh this past Saturday.  With a donut eating contest, donkey races, “duck-duck-goose”, soccer practice, and even some badmitton; our day was full.  Madison, Grace, and Ezekiel had a wonderful time playing with the children as well.

It was equally rewarding to talk to them about the story of Jairus and how when he faced an impossible situation, Jesus told him, “DON’T BE AFRAID!!! ONLY BELIEVE AND YOUR DAUGHTER WILL BE MADE WELL!!”  (Luke 8:50) What encouragement!  I need that right now! :)  Anyhow, check out the slideshow below for more pics.  God Bless—->Rick

  • My trip to Burma was very “eye opening.”  Click on this for more info about the trip  Thank you to all of you who prayed for this trip, please continue to pray for the leaders there.  God Bless,

This is Michael….he is a normal 5 year old boy who LOVES to play!  Maddy and Michael have become good friends as they search for their next bug to trap. :)  He has lived here at Faith Village since he was 3 months old.  The story I want to share with you is a prime example of how the “thief” (that would be the devil, in case you were wondering), anyhow….the “thief” comes to steal, kill, and destroy peoples lives, BUT Jesus has come to give us an abundant life!” John 10:10

Michael’s mother died just a few days after he was born, and his father was killed in the first few days of his life as well.  I’ll spare you the details of these horrid events, to progress to a much brighter note…

Here is a newborn boy, so quickly made an orphan and nowhere to go.  That’s why Faith Village exists.  Michael spent his first few months at a relatives house, but in the mean time the authorities contacted the leaders at Faith Village to ask if they could take this baby boy.  This place has become a beacon of light in their region, and people KNOW who they are, the standard they live by, and about their God, the one and only big “G” God. :)  They are a living example of Matthew 5:16 “You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

The devil tried to destroy this boys life before it even had a chance to begin, BUT our God turned that around, and now Michael is growing up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and being “trained” in the way he should go.  It’s awesome to be a part of such a great place.  check it out at www.trumpetsofchrist.org

  • This trip the whole family was able to visit the Children’s Home at Baan Mae Toh. We had a great time with the kids, and we even taught them to play “duck, duck, goose!” They had a fun time playing the new game….please continue to pray for the leaders here and the kids there as the grow in the Lord, and become a light in their world. :) We also had a great opportunity to pray for them while we were there…..”The fervent prayers of a righteous man accomplish much..” James 5
